Verse 9.94
त्रिंशद्वर्षो वहेत् कन्यां हृद्यां द्वादशवार्षिकीम् ।
त्र्यष्टवर्षोऽष्टवर्षां वा धर्मे सीदति सत्वरः ॥ ९४ ॥
triṃśadvarṣo vahet kanyāṃ hṛdyāṃ dvādaśavārṣikīm |
tryaṣṭavarṣo’ṣṭavarṣāṃ vā dharme sīdati satvaraḥ || 94 ||
A man thirty years old shall marry a charming maiden twelve years old; or one twenty four years old, a damsel eight years old; in the event of his duties suffering, he may do it sooner.—(94)

Verse 7.7
प्राप्ते तु द्वादशे वर्षे यः कन्यां न प्रयच्छति ।
मासि मासि रजस्तस्याः पिबन्ति पितरः स्वयम् ॥ ७ ॥
“A man who does not give his daughter in marriage when she has attained twelve years of age—her forefathers themselves drink her menstrual blood every month.”
Verse 8
माता चैव पिता चैव ज्येष्ठो भ्राता तथैव च।
त्रयस्ते नरकं यान्ति दृष्ट्वा कन्यां रजस्वलाम् ॥ ८ ॥
“Mother, father, and elder brother—all three go to hell if they see the girl during her menstruation.”

उषित्वा द्वा दश समाः इक्ष्वाकूणाम् निवेशने |
भुंजाना मानुषान् भोगान् सर्व काम समृद्धिनी || ३-४७-४
“On residing in the residence of Ikshvaku-s in Ayodhya for twelve years, I was in sumptuosity of all cherishes while relishing all humanly prosperities.”
मम भर्ता महातेजा वयसा पंच विंशकः || ३-४७-१०
अष्टा दश हि वर्षाणि मम जन्मनि गण्यते |
“My great-resplendent husband was of twenty-five years of age at that time, and to me eighteen years are reckoned up from my birth.”
Rig Veda
Verse 8.33.17
इन्द्र॑श्चिद्घा॒ तद॑ब्रवीत्स्त्रि॒या अ॑शा॒स्यं मन॑: । उ॒तो अह॒ क्रतुं॑ र॒घुम् ॥
इन्द्रश्चिद्घा तदब्रवीत्स्त्रिया अशास्यं मनः । उतो अह क्रतुं रघुम् ॥
indraś cid ghā tad abravīt striyā aśāsyam manaḥ | uto aha kratuṃ raghum ||
“Verily Indra said that the mind of a woman is not to be controlled, he declared also that her intellect wassmall.”
Verse 10.95.15
पुरू॑रवो॒ मा मृ॑था॒ मा प्र प॑प्तो॒ मा त्वा॒ वृका॑सो॒ अशि॑वास उ क्षन् । न वै स्त्रैणा॑नि स॒ख्यानि॑ सन्ति सालावृ॒काणां॒ हृद॑यान्ये॒ता ॥
पुरूरवो मा मृथा मा प्र पप्तो मा त्वा वृकासो अशिवास उ क्षन् । न वै स्त्रैणानि सख्यानि सन्ति सालावृकाणां हृदयान्येता ॥
purūravo mā mṛthā mā pra papto mā tvā vṛkāso aśivāsa u kṣan | na vai straiṇāni sakhyāni santi sālāvṛkāṇāṃ hṛdayāny etā ||
“Ūrvaśi. Die not, Purūravā, fall not, let not the hideous wolves devour you. feminine le friendships donot exist, their hearts are the hearts of jackals.”
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
Verse 6.4.7
सा चेदस्मै न दद्यात्, काममेनामवक्रिणीयात्; सा चेदस्मै नैव दद्यात्, काममेनां यष्ट्या वा पाणिना वोपहत्यातिक्रामेत्, इन्द्रियेण ते यशसा यश आदद इति; अयशा एव भवति ॥ ७ ॥
sā cedasmai na dadyāt, kāmamenāmavakriṇīyāt; sā cedasmai naiva dadyāt, kāmamenāṃ yaṣṭyā vā pāṇinā vopahatyātikrāmet, indriyeṇa te yaśasā yaśa ādada iti; ayaśā eva bhavati || 7 ||
If she is not willing, he should buy her over; and if she is still unyielding, he should strike her with a stick or with the hand and proceed, uttering the following Mantra, ‘I take away your reputation,’ etc. She is then actually discredited.
