- As James Gunn’s Superman says, he is human, he loves, he gets scared, he wakes up every morning and despite not knowing what to do, he puts one foot in front of the other and tries to make the best choices he can, he screws up all the time, but that is being human.
- Satisfaction and comfort are temporary. We choose our burdens.
- Suffering isn’t the enemy, meaningless suffering is while meaningful isn’t.
- Deserving is a human construct and unlike money, it is useless and often just self-critical. The question is will you or someone do it or get it.
- Connection is everything. Any kind. Relationships are what prolongs human life and happiness.
- I need friends who I don’t have reservations about and who actually want to give all in.
- External Validation isn’t the enemy. You need to choose whose external validation you accept, and sure there is a high chance they are wrong but the opposite is apathy, numbness and isolation. No one is free from external validation, it’s a lie.
- In life, side quests are valuable to. They give you XP when you are failing at the main quest.
- Do things in such a way that more connections are possible.
- Whenever you face a negative belief, question it. Question it like you question your positive beliefs. (See: Attribution Bias)
- Be more visible. Engage actively, not passively. Comment more, not just like.
- The past cannot be rewritten, but the brain is like a hard disk. Even if there are bad adaptations, those can be changed by repetitions, just as a file you don’t want can be shredded.
- Your actions define who you are. If you fear and still take action, that makes you brave. If you have bad thoughts and don’t act on them, it makes you a good person.
- Even if you believe something is not worth trying, do not ever think you have an accurate picture of it, if it’s something you want. The brain doesn’t give a reflection of reality, rather a subjective painting of it. Depending on what part of the brain is active, that picture can vary drastically. (See: Learned Helplessness)
- Work with the garage door up
